Taplanes were asked by UEA to provide a sample en suite Pod in 2011, as one of three proposed
solutions to replace the rapidly deteriorating GRP en suite Pods, installed as part of the original 800
room build at The Village site.
Located in the heart of Nice, 50 metres from the Old Town and the Beach, Villa Saint Exupéry Beach Hostel is one of the largest and best hostels in Nice, France.
Designed in conjunction with industrial designer and Anthropod founder, Rik Currie; Taplanes created a prototype wetroom to replicate the curved structure of their innovative and stylish glamping pod.
Taplanes specification engineer, Dan Wilkinson, worked closely with Trinity Hall College’s Head of Buildings & Services, the Project Architect (Freeland Rees Roberts) and the main contractor; to fully understand the project requirements and ensure that the most suitable showering solution was designed and manufactured to meet the design specifications & project requirements
provided.
