All of our cubicles and pods are handmade by the Taplanes® production team at our factory in Nidd, North Yorkshire.
All of our units are made from bacteria-free polypropylene material which has been developed and patented purely for Taplanes® products.
Yes, Taplanes® showers are 100% leak-free.
We offer our products in white, champagne and fleck grey; for orders of large quantities, we can offer a broader range of colours. We would be happy to post samples of our material at your request.
As Taplanes® units are bespoke and made to client requirements, each quotation is different. The price will depend on the type of unit, the measurements and the fitments that you choose. To give a better idea of cost, we will be able to provide you with an accurate quotation once we know exactly what you require. We are happy to provide you with a free site survey, this will allow us to advise you on the most suitable solution with no obligation.
No, Taplanes® are a supply only company, we would recommend that a plumber installs the unit for you. After 35 years in the industry we are able to recommend specific M&E contractors. Please get in touch with us for any enquiries relating to your installation.
Although the measurements of our units are accurate, lights and other fitments will add to the external dimensions of the product. This will need to be accounted for when measuring your available space. Any gaps can be covered with Taplanes® fascias for a seamless finish.
Yes, we manufacture both one-piece and sectional units, meaning that we are able to provide showering solutions for both refurbishments and new-build projects. The sectional units break down into 4, 5 or 6 horizontal sections which are individually transported into the building, defeating the issue of low ceilings, narrow corridors and doorways. Once the sectional elements are in their final location, they are easily slotted back together to provide a leak-free showering solution suitable for any project.
On average a cubicle installation will take between 3-4 hours, a Minipod 4-5 hours, and an ensuite pod between 6-8 hours. When comparing this with the time it takes to install a typical tile and grout shower, Taplanes® units make for a quicker and easier installation.
Yes, we provide technical and AutoCAD support to anyone who should require it.
Generally the lead time, from the date of order, is around 4 weeks. Please note that our products will be in high demand during our busy period over the summer months. We can often experience increased lead times of up to 12 weeks during this period. We would therefore recommend planning early to ensure that all deadlines are achieved.
We would recommend that the units are cleaned with a soft brush and a standard detergent. Any decolourisation of the base is due to skin and soap residue build-up, which can be easily removed with a caustic soda solution (limescale remover).
We offer a minimum 25 year guarantee for all of our units, although many have been in place for much longer!
Our shower units are excellent value for money due to their long lifespan. The leakproof guarantee will ensure no maintenance costs and there is no need to re-seal the units. A regular tile and grout shower or ensuite can be incredibly expensive to install, with the need of a plumber, tiler, plasterer and occasionally a joiner. With Taplanes® products you will need only a plumber to fit your unit, lowering the installation costs considerably.
No, we are happy to supply our products for customer’s homes, offering exactly the same service as clients placing substantially large orders.
No! The nature of our polypropylene ensures that no moulds or bacteria can survive on the material, the same material then welds the base to the structure of the unit, making your shower free from sealant. This means that the product is incredibly easy to clean and maintain, keeping your shower looking like new.
Yes, we are able to remove old Taplanes® units to be reground and re-extruded into flat sheets. The recycled material is then used as support ribs within the new cubicles. Due to the thermal nature of our material, you will not require the use of a radiator or underfloor heating.
